The First Dance Wedding Advice for Couples

We don’t have to tell you that this is a thrilling but sometimes frustrating and maddening time in your life. You have found the love of your life and want to get married. Instead of the fairytale of happily ever after, you are stuck with struggles over money, budget (often too low), wedding costs, etiquette from your mom or mother-in-law from 30 years ago, who to invite and not invite, and on and on. With hundreds of decisions and a set of confusing, complex, and sometimes conflicting relationships with people close to you—and perhaps between the two of you as a couple no wonder you are feeling stressed or confused. The minefields are everywhere, and the standard advice for couples is often simplistic, as in “It’s your day, so do what you want,” or “Just tell people what you expect from them.” If it were all that simple, there would not be so much stress! The result is that many couples feel like eloping.

Join other First Dance couples who tell us they had less stress in the months leading up to their wedding, more ability to handle the pressures, and a clearer perspective on what was going on around them. Our telephone coaching sessions, book, DVD, Couple Checkup Inventory, and online chat room give you a variety of ways to get the advice you need.
